Arvind Kejriwal

By Syed Zubair Ahmad,
When Arvind Kejriwal was delivering his inaugural speech as Chief Minister of Delhi I was sitting in another  room and listening to him. All of a sudden I heard him saying ‘Mai Allah Ka Shukrya Ada Karta Hun’, I got confused and went to the room where the TV set was on. O my God, it was Kejriwal who uttered this sentence of gratefulness. I did not hear such words of praise of Almighty even from the mouth of a Muslim politician in India.
When I see Kejriwal’s sacrifice and his struggle for the cause of common man, when I see his austerity, his simple life style, his honesty and his straightforwardness i assume him  a Muslim by faith because whatever he calling for or doing is absolutely the teachings of Islam.I don’t think any religion of the world advocates in such a clear terms except Islam  about what Kejriwal is practicing and doing  for the welfare of humanity although all religion of the world teach us to be good and to do good.
Prophet Muhammad said: ‘The best among the people is the one who does good to the people’. It’s Kejriwal who is doing good to the people, who is striving for the betterment of people, who is fighting for the upliftment of the people from  long time.
Prophet Muhammad said that ‘Your worst enemy is your ego’.
Kejriwal in his inaugural speech as the CM asked his supporters to shun all kind of ego otherwise a new movement may start to end our ego.
Prophet Muhammad said ‘Those who take bribe and those who give bribe, both will go to hell’. It’s Kejriwal who is fighting against all kinds of bribe and corruptions. It is Kejriwal who took oath from the people to neither take bribe nor give bribe to anyone.
Prophet Muhammad said ‘Cleanliness is the part of Imaan. When Kejriwal was income tax commissioner he used to clean his  table, when he became politician he took the broom and started cleaning the system.
Prophet Muhammad said ‘Simplicity is the part of Imaan.’ Look at the simplicity of Kejriwal. He is the simplest person by any standard.
Once Prophet Muhammad was sitting on his foot, one of his companions asked ‘why are you sitting like this? The prophet said ‘I am a servant of Almighty Allah and I sit like a servant’. Kejriwal always says ‘meri koee auqaat nhi’  ‘meri koee haisiyat nahi’ I am nothing, I have no status.
Prophet Muhammad said ‘The best form of jihad is to say the truth before the oppressive rulers’. Kejriwal is telling the truth before the rulers.
Muslims believe that the time of death is fixed, and no power of this world can put off  it for a moment. By refusing his security Kejriwal has proved that he also believes in the fixed time of death. He told media persons that if God wants to kill him, no one can save him. And if does not want, no one can kill him.
Islam is the greatest advocate of brotherhood, and it declares all mankind the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve. Kejriwal gave the massage of brotherhood by singing the song…insaan se insaan ka ho bhaee chara yahi paigham hamara’
Kejriwal is one of the few Hindu politicians in my knowledge who don’t follow the unethical policy of Chanakya who advocated to ignore all kinds of ethics to grab the power at any cost.
The way Kejriwal and his ministers are roaming freely and contacting people in a move to redress their grievances and solve their problem reminds us the Caliphs of Islamic history when Muslim Caliphs used to roam into the streets to know the problems of the masses.
If Kejriwal really wants to eliminate the corruption from the society he must know that legislation can never and will never end the corruption from the society. The legislation on rape is before us. In spite of most stringent legislation after 16 Dec incident last year the crime against women rose to 400% in Delhi itself.
Kejriwal needs to apply the following model to end the corruption from the society if he really wants to do so.
During one of his frequent disguised journeys to survey the condition of his people, Caliph Umaroverheard a milkmaid refusing to obey her mother’s orders to sell adulterated milk. The mother reportedly told her daughter to add water to the milk as Caliph Umar is not there looking at them. The girl shot back that though Caliph Umar is not looking at them, Allah is always watching over everyone. Next morning Omar sent an officer to purchase milk from the girl and learned that she had kept her resolve; the milk was unadulterated. Umar summoned the girl and her mother to his court and told them what he had heard. Then he offered to marry the girl to his son Asim as a reward. She accepted, and from this union was born a girl named Layla that would in due course become the mother of Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz  (682 A.D.) who is known as Omar II in the Islamic history .
Caliph Omar II was the mightiest ruler of his time on the planet whose authority was spread in three continents – but  Umar died in Ra jab 101 AH at the age of 38 in a rented house at the place called Dair Sim’aan near Homs in Syria . He was buried in Dair Sim’aan on a piece of land he had purchased from a Christian. He reportedly left behind only 17 dinars with a will that out of this amount the rent of the house in which he died and the price of the land in which he was buried would be paid.
Once his wife found him weeping after prayers. She asked what had happened. He replied: “I have been made the ruler over the Muslims and I was thinking of the poor who are starving, and the sick who are destitute, and the naked who are in distress, and the oppressed that are stricken, and the stranger that is in prison, and the venerable elder, and him that had a large family and small means, and the like of them in countries of the earth and the distant provinces, and I felt that my Lord would ask me about them on the Day of Resurrection, and I feared that no defense would avail me (at that time), and I wept.”
The Facebook page of Kejriwal describes him as Gandhis’ Talisman. If  Kejriwal really wants to solve the problems of the masses then he must follow the advice of   Gandhi .Just after the independence in his speech delivered in Kolkata  Mahatma Gandhi said ” that if India finds a man like Omar ibn Khatab all the problems will be solved”.
Gandhi was the greatest supporter of Caliphate Movement and was much influenced by the second Caliph Omar.
Anyway what is supposed to be done by Muslims, Kejriwal is doing, what is responsibility of a Muslim is being performed by Kejriwal , that is why i say ‘Kejriwal is a Hindu by faith and Muslim by practice’  because Islam is a all about  worshiping  God and serving  the  humanity .

Leaked emails from Bhushan's sister reveal AAP split before Delhi polls

The rift in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has only just come out in the open - but the differences were brewing for months.

In January, Shalini Gupta, sister of senior leader Prashant Bhushan, sent out e-mails to members of the AAP Global group, which has around 800 NRI supporters of the party, apparently trying to discourage them from donating money or investing time in the party, sources said.

Mail Today is in possession of the e-mail exchanges.

In a veiled way, Shalini dissuaded the NRI volunteers and members from supporting the party financially and personally.

“Since all of you are important stakeholders in the party, donating your time and money, some straight talk is warranted,” she said in an e-mail sent on January 6.

The e-mails, sent out on January 5 and 6, make a reference to two camps in the party while raising the issue of the AAP fielding candidates with questionable credentials.

In her January 5 e-mail, she writes: “…My suggestion is we need to be very careful of the constituency we adopt. There are many candidates in the list this time who would not meet the party clean politics standard.”

In an e-mail dated January 5 she praises Bhushan for seeking a Lokpal inquiry against 12 party candidates.

After the party’s internal Lokpal conducted an inquiry, names of two AAP candidates were cancelled.

But Shalini’s emails were sent before the Lokpal inquiry was completed. Despite repeated attempts to reach Shalini in the United States, she did not respond to the queries.

Party sources said the top leadership was aware of Shalini’s emails, but took a conscious decision to stay silent.

“We were aware. But we tried our best to not escalate these issues as our focus was on the elections. There have been many other activities which were against the party, like Shantiji’s letter to Arvind Kejriwal and Prashantji saying that he wanted the party to lose elections,” a source in AAP told Mail Today.

Party leaders said while there was no visible impact on the amount of foreign donations received, Shalini’s e-mails were somewhat damaging.

“There was no visible impact on our foreign donations as it remained almost 30 per cent of the total funds received which was almost same as 2013 Assembly elections,” a source said.

NRI volunteers and members said the e-mails did not really discourage them from supporting the party.

“I saw the e-mail but did not give it much thought. It did not deter me. But we, the NRI supporters, want the leadership to stick together,” said Deepak Lingwal, from Singapore.

AAP leader Mayank claims 'Delhi decision makers' are attacking him

After questioning the ouster of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan from Political Affairs Committee, senior leader Mayank Gandhi has now claimed that a small group of “decision makers in Delhi” are attacking him.

On the other hand, another leader Anjali Damania has accused Bhushan of wanting the party to lose the recent Delhi Assembly polls.

Alleging that a “concerted attempt” was being made on social media to call him anti-party and anti-Kejriwal, Gandhi said he might be humiliated so much in the party that it could lead him to quit AAP.

Senior leader Mayank Gandhi has now claimed that a small group of “decision makers in Delhi” are attacking him. Another leader Anjali Damania has accused Prashant Bhushan of wanting the party to lose the recent Delhi Assembly polls

“More will come and I will be finally humiliated so much that I will quit. That was what was planned for YY (Yadav) and PB (Bhushan), but they overturned that plan by staying inside the party. Let me see if I can withstand the muck that will be thrown,” he said in his latest blog.

“On January 27, I met Prashant ji (Bhushan) at his office. I was stunned when he said that he wanted the party to lose in Delhi Assembly elections. I was so upset that I picked up my bag and walked out of his office,” Damania said.
She also alleged that Bhushan discouraged donors when the AAP was facing cash crunch. Gandhi, who had abstained from voting in the National Executive meeting held on Wednesday, said that his blog was not to weaken the party or the leadership but to strengthen the AAP and the principles that the party espouses.

“A price may have to be paid. A small group of party decision makers in Delhi have already removed me from the informal BBM group. Attacks have begun against me from Ashish Khetan and others,” he wrote in his blog.

Khetan in a Tweet had said: “Some people give television interviews all through the day, while some work for the progress of Delhi and country. Some people write blogs, while some people write history.”

Left, right, AAP - Written by Harbans Mukhia - The Indian Express, Mumbai, INDIA

My comments posted on The Indian Express article: Left, right, AAP :

"One serious charge that is constantly levied against the Aam Aadmi Party in general and Kejriwal in particular is that they lack a clear ideological perspective to guide their actions. " As things stand, the overwhelming support to AAP and Kejriwal by the people have given - without any such enunciation of ideology --- writers should accept people's verdict and frame the new vision of India rejecting ideological crutches of secularism, Hinduism, Marxism, capitalism, nationalism, fascism, Islamism and concentrating only on the well-being of the masses. Why waste our precious energies in dividing our people in various ways. Kejriwal has the moral fortitude to bring that revolutionary change and we must all support his tasteless, colorless, odorless concoction.

Has Arvind Kejriwal altered the paradigm of India’s politics? What rubbish, many of us would say. Politicians of this brand come and go and are soon forgotten. One serious charge that is constantly levied against the Aam Aadmi Party in general and Kejriwal in particular is that they lack a clear ideological perspective to guide their actions, which then acquire an ad hoc character. And the charge does not originate in hostility to them, even as it is not even firmly denied by them.

But then the charge itself arises from certain ideas about what constitutes ideology. We have grown up with ideology being cast in terms of binary opposites of class, gender and, in India specifically, caste. Its purported “scientific” schema was laid down by Marx and Engels. In this schema, society, economy, state, politics, culture, religion — everything — imbibed a class character in a general context of irreconcilable class antagonism. Change, in this scenario, could occur only with the overthrow of one class by another and the replacement of an entire structure dominated by one class with an alternative one. There was no shared space in between. It had a sense of deliberate abolition of the past, as it were. The French Revolution was the first such moment of transition, which “abolished feudalism” through a law passed by the Assemblée Nationale one fine morning in August 1789. The 20th century saw several more changes which overthrew either feudal or bourgeois regimes. The socialist revolution of Russia was to mark  the arrival of the penultimate stage of class antagonism, prior only to the end of all class struggle as humanity marched into the stage of communism, which would eradicate all trace of class difference among human beings. A dream-like prospect.

If the failure of the Soviet experiment does not nullify the concept of class difference in existing societies, it points to alternative modes of resolving social and other tensions. The concept of liberal democracy, which has virtually come to be equated with periodic, multi-party free and fair elections or representative democracy — very inadequate, in effect, for meeting the aspirations of the common masses — is a working alternative, and the only one available at present. The other option is to boycott it and wage revolutionary class war outside its framework, an option no longer viable.

It is true that the working of liberal democracy has almost universally been characterised by a gap between its promises and its delivery. The promises made to “we the people” in idealistic constitutions drafted in grand constitutional assemblies, made up of the most highly educated elites, have been denied to the people in real life. We have now reached a stage where about 80 individuals own half the world’s wealth and they have acquired it largely in the most advanced democratic set-ups.

Yet, the option of delivering the promises made by the same liberal democratic constitutions is opening up. Several experiments in Latin American states and societies, in Iceland and, most recently, in Greece have demonstrated the feasibility of looking after the interests of the poor and the downtrodden — and of the ecology — within the available framework of “democracy”. In other words, the ideology that has guided these experiments is redefining Marxism itself by drawing it away from the premise of irreconcilable class antagonism. The objective here is not to do away with the capitalist system but to compel it to fulfil the promises made by the “bourgeois” constitutions. Honesty of purpose seems to have replaced the ideological commitment to class antagonism.

This appears to be the guiding perspective of the AAP. It is not as if Kejriwal and his friends have sat down to deliberate these issues, even though it has eminent intellectuals steeped in the social sciences, such as Yogendra Yadav, Anand Kumar, Kamal Mitra Chenoy, Rajmohan Gandhi and others, in the higher echelons of the party leadership. But then, perspectives do not evolve through deliberations among intellectuals. They evolve through interactions with the people and a deliberate as well as intuitive understanding of their problems and aspirations. It would be interesting to investigate how many epoch-making leaders, like Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, developed their perspectives by reading learned treatises. As recent exciting experiments in direct democracy, in Iceland and earlier Venezuela, have demonstrated, perspectives traverse many diverse and complex terrains as they evolve.

Thus, what the AAP is experimenting with is not a grand theory of overthrow or revolution but one of enlarging the public space within the existing structures. It is not premised on upheavals of one sort or another, but on an incremental claiming of rights that have, in practice, been denied to the common people, the aam aadmis.
Will this experiment evaporate into thin air? There is no guarantee that it will survive the expected onslaught of vested interests. But there is no guarantee that it will succumb to threats or temptations held out by vested interests either. Kejriwal has always laid stress on the sincerity of intentions and shown no sign of wavering from them, although it is too early to decide and power has the habit of corrupting. But if it is important to keep one’s scepticism alive, especially when it comes to leaders, it is equally important to grant them honesty and commitment to a cause until such time as they belie it. It is the simple principle of “innocent until proven guilty”.
But the success of the AAP experiment in Delhi will, even if not in full measure but substantially, in Nehru’s memorable words, galvanise other areas of public and political life in India. It is easy to envisage its cascading effect if it works out. That is its real message. That is our hope.

The victory of Kejriwal opens a new era of Indian politics - Ghulam Muhammed, Mumbai

The victory of Kejriwal opens a new era of Indian politics. The Brahmin political formulations have fooled the people of India with their fraud in the name of secularism, Hindutva and Marxism. India needs new rulers for whom each and every Indian is a proud citizen of India; period.

Kejriwal has moral strength to clean up the dirty politics and heaven knows how much the people hate the old corrupt rulers at all levels in this great nation. India is not being mortgaged to Kejriwal, he should hold his office of trust with humility, honesty, generosity and justice for all.
